Beyond the classroom desk
E-learning - Businesses refer to it as the strategies that use their intranet to deliver training courses to employees, while online schools define it as a planned teaching/learning experience that uses multiple technologies integrated to reach out to learners.
We can be as creative in defining Electronic Learning or E-Learning as we want to, fact of the matter is that not only it uses multiple technologies, but multiple intellectual skill sets are required in the development process as well. The Butcher, The Baker, and The Candlestick Maker, they all have to work together. In more realistic terms; The Instructional Designer, The Educator The Graphic Designer and the Tech-Guru have to co-operate very closely to create that unique “user experience” where the learner does not feel burdened or alienated, but actually enjoys it.
In the business and professional world, the future will be all about just-in-time
training that people can take out in the field, at home or wherever they happen
to be. E-learning and "bite-sized" learning are going to be the major players.
